Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Uxbridge Cleaners is committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly. We recognise our duty to respect human rights and to take all reasonable steps to ensure that modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour have no place in our operations or supply chains. This Modern Slavery Statement outlines the measures we have in place to prevent, detect, and address risks related to modern slavery.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Uxbridge Cleaners provides professional cleaning services to residential and commercial clients. Our activities rely on a combination of directly employed staff, agency workers, and external suppliers who provide equipment, cleaning products, and related services. We understand that the nature of supply chains in the cleaning and facilities sector can present potential risks of labour exploitation. We are therefore committed to promoting transparency, fairness, and respect for human rights throughout our organisation and supplier relationships.

Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery

We have a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. This policy applies to all employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers. We will not knowingly engage with any individual or organisation involved in, or failing to take adequate steps to prevent, modern slavery in their operations or supply chains.

All employment with Uxbridge Cleaners is voluntary. Workers are free to leave after reasonable notice and are not required to pay recruitment fees. We prohibit the confiscation of identification documents and any practices that may restrict a worker’s freedom of movement or ability to terminate their employment.

Due Diligence and Supplier Audits

We aim to build long-term relationships with suppliers who share our values. As part of our due diligence, we assess the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains and take proportionate steps to manage that risk. New suppliers are required to confirm that they comply with all applicable labour, human rights, and anti-slavery laws. We expect them to maintain appropriate policies, controls, and training within their own organisations and subcontractor networks.

We carry out periodic supplier audits, which may include requesting documentation, reviewing employment practices, and seeking assurances about recruitment processes and working conditions. Where concerns arise, we will engage with suppliers to agree corrective actions within clear timeframes. If a supplier fails to address identified issues, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.

Training, Awareness, and Reporting Channels

We provide training and guidance to relevant staff so they can identify signs of modern slavery and understand the steps required if they have concerns. Managers responsible for procurement, recruitment, and contract management receive enhanced awareness training to help them recognise risk indicators and respond appropriately.

Uxbridge Cleaners encourages a culture of openness. Any employee, worker, or third party who has concerns about potential modern slavery is urged to raise them without fear of retaliation. Concerns can be reported to line managers or senior management. All reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly. Where appropriate, we may involve external specialists or report matters to the relevant authorities.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

We are committed to continually improving our approach to preventing modern slavery. We will review this statement and our related policies at least once a year and sooner if there are significant changes in legislation, our business operations, or identified risks.

The annual review will consider the effectiveness of our current measures, feedback from audits, any reported concerns, and developments in best practice. As part of this process, we will update training, strengthen supplier engagement, and refine our due diligence and auditing procedures where necessary.

This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the leadership of Uxbridge Cleaners and reflects our ongoing commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, fairness, and respect for human rights in everything we do.
